art of growing up
i think i said something like this before but... oh well. since we were kids we are prepared for the next thing. middle school, highschool, college, carreers. But even in highschool and middleschool we were getting carreer days. " here are your options, you better pick one soon and get to it" is basically what people get convinced. I think that is everyones problem when they get out of highschool. Everyone thinks that everyone else knows what they are doing. no one knows. the best part of life is not knowing. it's hard not to be afraid sometimes. I can recall times where i would sit blank faced combing my brain for how things were going to work out in the longrun. i had it figured out once, i was going to go to the new england institute of art for audio production, graduate after four years, get a good paying job at bose and try to stay happy. It occured to me that, that was stupid. pressure to be in a college is the worst thing ever. and sometimes it is the worst place to learn. experiencing is the best way to know. people learn the things they want to learn and seek out the help they need when they know they need it. answering to tests and grades is just a way of controlling and organizing. the thing is, we can't really get around it these days. i think that the more that people start realizing what they love, and that it's not the amount of money they make, the more relief we will feel. the weight of expectations lifted. as long as you have your own goals anyone can be successful and it won't matter what anyone else thinks.
