Vas Deferens

Over the summer i met a band called Sirs. I had heard of this band before but never thought to much of it, even gave it a listen on myspace i think. It seemed to me there was a bunch of bands coming out of Suny Purchase that barely veered off of Algernon Cadwallader's sound. I was wrong about Sirs. This album if full of life and energy that is much different than Algernon. Sometimes it will play through 3 times in my car before i even realize it's time to change the cd. The way justin screams brings me back to so many bands i used to love and the parts he sings are equally as good. They stick quick transitions and parts that you don't expect or understand. There is even parts that speed up and slow down which i love because of my hate for metronomes. Now, onto Hibernations Sometimes. This song is a little different than the rest of the songs on the album. When i first saw sirs and they put the mic in front of dave benton I did not expect the voice i was about to hear. The only problem i have with this album is the recording of the begining of this song. Something that you won't be able to understand until you see them play live, which probly won't happen because dave has recently left the band to focus on his other project, Spook Houses.
I had a little trouble writing about this album due to my lack of good way to explain things but seriously if you don't have vas deferens, get it and hear the madness.

Religion

I was raised loosely to be catholic, forced to sit through church and all that shit. Before i mindlessly made my confirmation i realized that i didn't believe any of that bullshit and opted out of it. Since then i have watched how stupid religions control people and take over their lives so much that don't experience what is actually like to be free and live. Jahovas Witnesses are the worst. They can't fucking do anything not even watch rated R movies and they don't even celebrate birthdays.
Point is i was 100% anti religion. But i was put into an Eastern religions class which made me realize that i actually hate western religion...becase eastern religion is the shit. Followings like buddhism and hinduism are awesome. From what i can catch by the little attention i pay, they are not a list of rules like catholocism, but a spiritual path. To truely learn about life you need to actually experience and learn. this being said nothing is prohibited but instead encouraed because everything you do ( even mistakes) is a lesson. as long as you learn from it. and this is the ultimate path to "enlightenment". Instead of saying be like us they are saying be yourself and learn everything you can about life in your own way.
it's funny how ignorant i will probly never realize i am and this is a perfect example of something i would have been against my whole life if i never stopped and took the time to understand.
